Last one

Tuesday was a weird day. Cha and I finished up our podcast, and right now we are editing the last few pieces. This project has been fun from start to finish. Cha and I have been discussing continuing this podcast after school ends but we don't really know. It would be amazing because of all the support we have gotten in and around campus. Spring term was awesome.

second to last

Monday cha and I recorded early afternoon. It was a slow morning which forced us to post-pone recording for the morning. We both felt like for our last podcast we should make it something special. We have a few good ideas for our last podcast. We recorded a puff piece, but our main segment should be really fun. Stay tuned

weekly reflection #2

This week was very interesting to say the least. From it being basically our last true week on campus to finding time to record our podcast, this past week was crazy. While I can’t say that I learned much about the podcasting experience, I can say that I learned a lot about how crazy life can get.  While trying to enjoy my last true week on this campus I was constantly reminded about how there was still work that needed to be done. Cha and I were constantly trying to come up with new and original ideas each and every day. We knew that the hype from our first podcast would die down after we released the second one. So trying to make sure our hype didn’t completely tank was a challenge. While this being in the back of our minds, we also wanted to enjoy Proctor as much as possible. With all the activities and games this week we found ourselves squeezing things in left and right. This reminded me of the fact that I will have to make time for things that I care about. I care about this po

We did nothing on Saturday. While cha was fine from his covid shot, I felt like garbage for most of the day. I only started to feel well that afternoon around 1-2pm. Since it was a Saturday and no one on campus had a game we ended up just not working on our podcast. While it's a shame we didn’t end up doing any work, I don’t think anything good would have come of it since I could barely get out of bed.

Today cha and I both got our vaccines, as did the rest of the school. Since cha got his shot mid-morning and I got mine around lunch, it left things in an awkward place. Since we both knew trying to record anything would be a stretch, we took the morning discussing our podcast. We talked about the feedback we had both gotten from what teachers and students had said to us,  to what we thought the podcast needed. This conversation lasted a while but was ultimately foiled by how nice of a day it was. We both being seniors feel the need to try and enjoy our last few days on this campus. Cha had a game so he ended up leaving after lunch and I went to the gym. I also enjoyed the afternoon with Saul watching the boys Varsity lacrosse game.   My Vaccine card

Today we got down to business. As we woke up, it was a little strange but as the day went on we got back into our groove. We recorded a ton today. We spent the first half of the recording talking about our main topic. After we finished that up, we decided to play around with our podcast. We tried out some new ideas. From using other people's lists of rappers and discussing them to recording some video segments. As usual, we went back to the drawing board trying to come up with more ideas. Our next episode should be out late this week.  This was the song of the day.

Today, like yesterday, was a slow day. We spent the morning trying to figure out whether or not we were ready to record. We both felt that we needed more content, so we spent the morning coming up with ideas. We also took to our Instagram to see what viewers were saying about what they wanted to see out of us. We ended up recording that afternoon, although they were mostly puff segments. Today was such a nice day, so we spent a lot of time outside.  Took a picture of an apple tree to send to my family

Cha and I took today off with the release of our second podcast yesterday. We spent time looking at our listeners and numbers on our podcast as well as on our Instagram. We both talked about ways we could try and get our numbers up on our listeners. We also talked about ways to get our listeners more involved on a daily basis. Our Instagram stories are getting views and we both think the listeners would like more interaction. Tomorrow we should get back on track with our podcast.  Song of the day

T oday Cha, I recorded our second podcast. It’s out now so go stream it if you're reading this. On our last podcast, we talked about our top 5 favorite artists and our top 5 favorite albums. We decided to go in the opposite direction for this one and talk about artists we don’t like and why. We also go into ranking rap artists on whether or not they are overrated, underrated, or just right. It was a lot of fun recording today! Look forward to producing more content in the future. Hopefully, our followers enjoy what we put out. Song of the day was "Ball w/o you" by 21 Savage.

This week I learned a lot. Going into this project, I assumed that it wouldn’t be too hard. I quickly learned about how wrong I was. The amount of time it takes for someone to pull off a podcast is a lot. From just setting up each and every day to researching and coming up with fresh new ideas for our listeners, I was always busy. Overall the experience thus far has been quite fun though. I’ve really enjoyed creating this podcast with Cha. My favorite thing about the podcast is definitely just talking into the microphone. While I know that only Cha is listening to me speak in actual time, I know that people want to hear what I have to say and that’s an amazing feeling. Besides that, I’ve also enjoyed working with cha on this podcast. Even though I’ve known him for the past 4 years and we've hung out every day, I’ve gotten to know him a lot better in the past week. Getting to know his music taste has definitely allowed me to understand him a lot better. So far everything has been

Saturday was probably the most difficult day for us. Since Charlie is still involved in sports he had a game quite far which caused him to leave quite early in the morning. Since we both knew we couldn’t record and that we had enough topics for the next couple of episodes we spent the day looking at other music podcasts to get inspiration. I already follow quite a few podcasts on all my social media pages and so does Charlie. We shared a few episodes we found the funniest/best with each other to see where we both believed our podcast could go. I spent the rest of the morning listening to what Charlie sent me writing down things I think we could incorporate into our podcast. We both plan on putting out more episodes next week!

Friday was a very slow day for both of us. We both woke up feeling slow but thought the energy would come to us while recording. We sat down to record mid-morning around 10am. After finishing and playing it back, we both realized how flat our energy was. It didn’t sound anything like us. We tried to figure out what was going on and fix it by trying to record it again in the afternoon, but we still sounded extremely dead. Since we both knew Friday wasn’t our day, we both did personal work to make our podcast the best possible. Cha spent the afternoon figuring out the software we record on to get the best sound quality as well as incorporating outside sound. I spent the day finding new topics and getting our listeners involved. On our Instagram, I set up a feature for our followers to ask us questions and listen to songs they recommend. The best part of the day for both of us was definitely getting a ton of positive feedback on our first episode. A lot of people came up to both Cha and I

Thursday we spent the day not knowing where to start. We both thought that since we put out an episode the day before that we would just come up with more ideas and do our own research on the topics we came up with. We were discussing this in the Dining Hall and Karin came up to us asking what we were recording today, and it put both of us in the mindset of we should get a record because people want to listen. Upon this realization, we went back to our room, looked through my notebook of topics, and found new topics fairly easy. We did some quick research and decided to record that day. Since that episode isn’t out yet, I’m not going to spoil the topics. We filmed, but the energy felt off so we decided to hold onto the episode and do something special for the people that follow us on Instagram. We plan on having the special episode out next week on our Instagram. Strange day but we are making sure we put out the best of the best for our followers. my book of topics

Wednesday so far has been our most exciting day so far. We spent the morning coming up and finalizing our topics for our first podcast. We decided that for the first episode, we should introduce our listeners to who we are and what we listened to. We chose to talk about our top five artists and our top 5 albums for the majority of our podcast. This was purely subjective and not objective so that people could understand us. After finalizing our topics we started to record mid-morning before lunch. After finishing up our first recording and playing back the audio, we realized that my mic wasn’t working properly. We thought we weren't going to have enough time to record it again due to Charlie and I having sports. We ended up recording it again before dinner with everything correct. Cha and I spent the rest of the night editing the podcast to put it out that day and we did. The day was rough but it was awesome though!

“Excitement” Trippie Redd

Today was the first day Cha and I actually spent time setting up everything we needed. We unpacked everything we needed yesterday and started to assemble everything piece by piece. We first set up our mics, which we then came to realize that we didn’t have stands. This was our first panic moment since we planned on recording on Wednesday. We ended up setting everything else up, from our plugins and getting our software setup, and Cha went to go see if he missed a package. After running to the bookstore, he realized he left packages there which turned out to be our mic stands. While this seemed like a pretty short day, getting the audio set up and figuring out how to get the best audio quality out of our equipment was hard. Overall, the day was quite exciting.

5/10/21 "First Day Out"

For the first day of senior project, it wasn’t really eventful. Charlie and I spent most of the day coming up with ideas and topics for our first podcast. I’ve had an ongoing list of ideas that have popped into my head since spring break, so we went through that all day and started to pick out certain topics we think would be fun. Before all that though, we went and met with our mentor, Scott Allenby, to check in with him. We all wanted to come up with a plan for how we would best use him and what he thinks would be best for us during this time. We went over logistics and he gave us insightful comments on how we can make our project even better. After going through topics and meeting with Scott, cha and I went and picked up our gear. All of our equipment came in today, so we spent some time going through what we needed and if we needed anything else. The first day wasn’t too crazy, but I can tell we are “Just heating up”- Lil baby.
